USA Today Bestselling authors Alta Hensley and Livia Grant join forces to bring you a dark billionaire STANDALONE enemies to lovers romance.
I love this dark, hot hero vs light, cold heroine in a romantic childhood friends to enemies to lovers story. This is the start to a new series with an interesting premise with a criminal organization setup in a premier NYC hotel. There are two sides to the hotel’s business, one criminal and one regular business with each needling the other. Our hero Dex and our heroine Katja inherited the businesses from their fathers which resulted in a few intriguing challenges as the two moved forward. I was surprised that this story was a tad light compared to the usual intensely dark romances from these talented authors. There are a few D/s encounters between alpha bossy Dex and beautiful, strong Katja. It’s a sexy, hot connection between the two built on a lifelong relationship. I loved this beginning to a new series with terrific characters, an intriguing setting and fabulous storylines to come. Can’t wait for Z and Rowan’s story!

Intricate Weaving of Business, Partners, and More!!
Katja and Dex were basically raised together in The Whitney hotel under the partnership of their fathers. Upon the father’s death, Katja breaks the partnership and enters a marriage of convenience to assist in the funding. Except husband Tristan, is a liar and a cheat.
The only one who can save her is Dex. The person she threw out of the only home he had known. He has prepared for this opportunity, and requires more from Katja than she expects.
Intricate and a bit dark. We get under each character's skin, and watch in fascination as they battle for power and survival. A fabulous story - and I’m so thrilled that there is more to come.

Wonderful Mafia Romance
I have just finished reading my ARC copy of this book and it is so wonderful I started reading a few hourss ago and I did not want to put it down and I did not, instead I just kept reading unti I came to the Notes on the authors.
This is a really wonderful Enemies to Lovers Romance between Dex and Katja. They have known each other ever since they were kids as their fathers were business partners and they both lived at the Whitney Hotel. However they had a falling out when after Katja's Father died and left her the Whitney, Katja kicked Dex and his business partner to the curb.
You see Dex inherited his father's business from his father and their business was faciltating deals with the Underworld using the Whitney as their base of operation and their service was to offer a neutral and private and secure place to do business for a price. So of course Dex was upset when Katja made him and his business leave the Whitney.
However it turns out that Katja needs Dex's Help unexpectedly and Dex decides to avail himself of the opportunity. Katja and Dex have sizzling chemistry and there are a number of really hot scenes. Some of the scenes have a bit of spanking and I loved that and there was some power exchange.
Eventually they do admit to being totally into each other, but the path is not smooth. There is a great HEA at the end though.
I really loved every bit of this book, and I am looking forward to the next book "Dirty Ledger" by Livia Grant and Alta Hensley which involves two of the minor characters in Devil's Contract.
