Devil’s Way Out
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Published via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This author is new to me and I just have to say that I so thoroughly enjoyed this book. There was just so much going on that I couldn't put it down. The last 15 years for Emmaline (Emma) had been so difficult. She escaped her life in the city and along the way ended up in Absolution. Marshall rescues her from a ditch. Marshall has returned to the family ranch after being away for a year. He came back heartbroken. These two come together in a wonderful tale that is just filled with heartbreak and tears. Their journey is filled with mad-man, an arsonist, a love-sick horse (and a dog and cat) and Emma's special gift.
The characters were well developed and the story was intriguing. I adored the dual POV format. I understood both characters a lot better with this kind of format. The secondary characters were fascinating as well. I hope there are more stories to be had in Absolution (especially Danny's and Sam's)
I highly recommend this story to anyone over 18+. There is a bedroom scene, that while not overly graphic, it may be offensive to some.
