This is the diary of Burn Rivers.
Bernadette Rivers has had enough. Always the fat friend and fat twin, she's ready to be more.
This summer she's going to lose the weight that's been holding her back.
As determined as she is, Burn knows she can't do it alone.
Enter Warren Grey; ex-high school hottie and stereotypical jock. He is everything that tormented her about high school but she knows he's exactly what she needs.
With a distant mother, a sister with poor taste, a polar opposite best friend and enough insecurities to fill the Grand Canyon, can she learn to love the skin she's in?
And then, of course, there's Fred.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Indie author Moira Mugweni became a real sensation with this heart-warming book about an overweight California teenager determined to find her swagger during the summer before she starts college in New York City. Bernadette (nickname: Burn) is an immensely likable heroine, as is her best friend, Nat, a kind, dynamic computer nerd. When Burn embarks on a campaign to shed the pounds—with coaching from former classmate and handsome jock Warren—things get very interesting. We loved this lively, entertaining YA novel and read it in record time.

I read this book in 2 days. Once I read the first few chapters i was hooked. I loved reading how she sees herself change( both mentaly and physically) with each diary entry. This book really promotes embracing who you are and I LOVED IT. Is it weird that I could feel Burn's pain, joy and other emotions as I read? And that ending, talk about a cliff hanger. Can’t wait for the sequel.
