Publisher Description
From Wattpad sensation Estelle Maskame comes a gripping YA romance about forbidden attraction, heartbreak, and an unforgettable summer of secrets.
Eden Munro arrives in sunny Santa Monica hoping for a fresh start, far from her complicated past. But living with the father she's barely spoken to in years—and meeting her new family—isn't the peaceful escape she imagined. Especially when she comes face-to-face with her brooding, infuriating stepbrother, Tyler Bruce.
With a troubled past behind his dangerously magnetic charm, Tyler’s piercing green eyes and reckless ways make Eden's life complicated from day one. He’s exactly the kind of trouble Eden swore she’d avoid. But as she's drawn deeper into Tyler’s thrilling world of late-night beach parties, risky adventures, and secrets too compelling to ignore, Eden’s resolve begins to crumble.
Now, forbidden feelings ignite into an attraction hotter than the California sun, pulling them into a summer romance that neither will forget—and one they may not survive emotionally unscathed…
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In this trilogy opener, originally published serially on Wattpad, Maskame delivers a believable coming-of-age story and an unconventional romance, set against a present-day California summer. Eden Munro hasn't heard from her father in three years, so the 16-year-old is dubious when she's invited to visit his sprawling California home. She makes the trip from Portland, Ore., and meets his new wife, Ella, and her three sons, including volatile Tyler. Eden befriends a group of girls, including Tyler's girlfriend, and is drawn into a privileged world of parties and excess, with alcohol and drugs in abundance. She also struggles with a growing, taboo attraction to Tyler, whose self-destructive behavior hides profound personal pain. Eden's narration is relatable, and though her pragmatism often clashes with her new friends' irresponsibility, it doesn't diminish the wonder of self-discovery. The fallout of divorce, the insidiousness of substance abuse and family secrets, and especially the pangs of first love drive this emotionally resonant tale. Readers eager to learn what happens next in Eden and Tyler's story won't need to wait long: the subsequent books in the trilogy will be published in early 2016. Ages 14 up.
Customer Reviews
This book had made me cry, laugh and swear
If your a teenager and wants to read a book that’s not too cheesy or too easy, then did I mention I love you is PERFECT! I love all the dramatic twist and all the sweet drama. The book is so reliable that I almost believed that a random couple walking around Santa Monica could be Eden and Tyler, so excited to read the next one. I DEFINITELY recommend this book.
❤️
Must read all three books!!! I’m in love! I hate that they ended!
Really boring
The book is super duper duper boring. The characters were seriously lacking! There wasn’t any chemistry!
