Digestive System is a presentation of the human digestive system although many of the details are transferrable to other animals as well. It begins with an examination of the various structures (including the liver and pancreas) and their functions before it considers the processes of digestion. Closely scrutinized are the enzymatic reactions and physical processes that convert carbohydrates, lipids and proteins into their component molecules for absorption at the ileum leaving the residual material to be converted to feces.
