Before he was The Millipede, number two to The Centipede, he was Donald Holst, a retired sergeant in the Canadian military. He fought in World War III and retired to Height City as part of his deceased mother's final wishes. He was excited to watch Broadway shows before remembering he had to work for a living. Everything was on track, and then he met a young homeless boy claiming to be from the country he'd just spent six years of his life fighting.

This prequel is connected to Trying to Kill the Sun.
