What an odd pairing with Stella and Max. This book is sexy and suspenseful and intriguing. Stella has had a rough beginning but she seems to be coming out on the other side of it when their two worlds collide. Great beginning. Stella is hopeful and looking forward despite all her challenges.

Stella Langston’s ex Jeff Sykes was killed and stuffed in her cars trunk. Stella leaves the NBA stadium after the game is over to find police around her car. Stella’s father hired Max Cato to save her life. Sykes was bragging about getting out of prison and killing her. Max cant figure out who stuffed the body into her car. Then he thinks about an ex he thought was dead.
Who doesn’t want to fall for an assassin?
Would you be able to stay with someone if you knew what he did? I guess you’d always feel protected, and that’s something. Especially if he killed your abusive ex.
