We are a group of fourth graders from Iowa that participated in the Global Classroom Project researching and answering the question, "Do we have the right to capture and cage animals?" Our class is a 1:1 classroom with Chromebooks and iPads and used these devices to research various sources of information to help answer this question. After reading the book by Katherine Applegate, "The One and Only Ivan", we gathered our information and categorized the facts into when we should and should not capture and cage animals, then wrote a summary statement. All of our pages were done using the iPad app, Book Creator. A special thank you to Heidi Hutchison for organizing this global project.

Love love love the book
I can relate to this because I like animals too. I like how they have compassion for their opinions. They express how they feel.
Do We Have the Right to Capture and Cage Animals?
I enjoyed reading your book. You should be proud of all the hard work you put into researching and publishing on this topic.
Deciding to take an animal from its natural habitat is a difficult decision to make. Your "yes when" and "no when" points highlight the important ideas to consider before doing this. I think you chose many important reasons to and not to do this. Great job seeing and expressing multiple points of view on this hard topic!
