Absolutely Amazing
In a series of bizarre events worthy of Douglas Adams, six unlikely companions (college students Chris and Clare, the kindly old Professor Chronotis, the Fourth Doctor and his companion Romana, and of course K-9) are thrown together in desperate attempt to protect the secrets of a mysterious alien text no one understands from the clutches of the evil villain Skagra. They only have one thing to go on -- Beware Shada. Only no one can knows what that is, either.
This entire book is full of hilarious whimsy and crazy characters that one might expect from both Doctor Who and Douglas Adams, plus a gripping storyline with tons of action and suspense. I have read other Doctor Who novels by different authors, but they always leave me wanting more. I was fully satisfied and slightly sad when I read the last word of "Shada." I am, of course, a Whovian, but originally bought this book simply because I enjoyed "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." I was not disappointed. In fact I'm amazed that there aren't more reviews! There should be plenty. Even if you've never seen Doctor Who and are just looking for a good scifi novel, I am sure you will enjoy this book as much as I did.
