I am leaving in rather a hurry to see more of the world, so I have no time to say goodbye to you individually. I embrace you all and sniff you with love. I don't know when I'll be back. But back I will be.
It's time for a change, so Dominic packs his collection of hats and his piccolo and heads out, letting the world take him where it may. When Dominic encounters members of the Doomsday Gang, he easily foils their attempt to rob him. Legend of his victory quickly spreads, and each new friend Dominic meets tells him a story of their own less-fortunate meeting with the villains, and asks for help from the heroic dog. But can one lone dog bring down an entire band of hooligans?
Engaging book for children
My 6-yr-old and 4-yr-old grandsons love it when I read "Dominic" to them. Each chapter has another exciting adventure with the protagonist, Dominic the dog, in which he meets another animal, and is either generous with or protective of that animal. Many chapters are enlivened by his encounters with the Doomsday Gang, led by a villainous fox. They never tire of me re-reading several paragraphs in which Dominic easily sees through the disguise of the villainous fox, and chases him away. They continue to laugh uproariously as I read this section. Many animal species are represented, and each animal has the name of a different species, eg, Lemuel Wallaby is a turtle. This paperback book, which has the same cover as the one illustrated here, has 19 chapters and 146 pages. We have enjoyed each chapter.
