A great beginning to the series!
I didn't expect to be taken in by a story within the world of baseball, but Jill Shalvis builds such strong characters it would be hard not to be. Her way with humor also takes what could be very superficial characters and rounds them out, giving them distinct voices and interactions. The love story between pitcher Pace and reporter Holly was well told, as was the believable conflicts of interest they both faced. Not quite as good as the second book in the series, Slow Heat, but this is still a fantastic, fun and romantic story!
