A.A. in Akron, Ohio
This book is an account of A.A.’s early days in Akron, Ohio and its development from two groups (Akron and New York City) to a nationwide and then global fellowship. It’s also a moving look at the final years of Dr. Robert Holbrook Smith, one of the two men who started the Alcoholics Anonymous program for the relief of alcoholism.
I would heartily recommend reading this book to anyone who considers themselves an inheritor of the Twelve Steps. Having read it, I now feel a stronger understanding of the development of a fellowship that has saved my life and the lives of many others throughout the world.
