A malevolent power has been unleashed upon Xandakar. The fate of the world lies in the hands of a young man and a young woman whose lives are about to change forever.
Zakarai Mossknot lives deep in the southern swamps with a family of rat shifters who steal and scavenge to survive. He's out on the boat with his Pa and his brother when the sun turns black as pitch, along with the eyes of everyone around him, transforming them into murderous monsters. So begins the longest, darkest day of Zak's life. He will have to fight for his very survival, discover who he really is, and meet a young woman who is also fleeing from the dark magic that has gripped their world. She is spoiled, selfish, and headstrong, but she is also the most beautiful, clever girl he has ever met.
Myrian Moonglow is a princess in the clan of the white dragons. She has lived her entire life in luxury and comfort, tucked away behind the high marble walls of the Moonglow castle. But her sheltered life is thrown into chaos when the sun goes dark and everyone she loves is suddenly trying to kill her. As she flees the horrors of the dark day, she will meet a young man, a peasant dressed in rags from the swamps to the west. And even though he is rude, impudent, and ignorant, he may be her only hope for living another day, if another day will ever come.

Wonderfully inventive dragon fantasy romance
Another fabulous installment in Dragonlords of Xandakar. When we left book 3, Vish’Kazir had been released and was unleashed his own brand of hell. Zak has never fit into his family, when the sun is blotted out and his family turns against him, he flees. Myrian is the pampered Princess and is shocked when her ladies maid tries to kill her. As she escapes her homeland, she seeks The One Tree and the wisdom of the mages. Zak is brought to The One Tree by a mage and his true birth right is revealed. This sends Zak and Myrian on a quest to bring together a group of dragons, representing all the lands/colors as the only way to fight Vish’Kazir. Through this quest, the two have to learn to trust each other while bringing together the other kingdoms. Will they also find love along the way? This is a wonderfully inventive dragon story that has kept me guessing and wanting more every time.
This series have kept me on the edge of my seat starting with book 1. I haven't had a great read like this in over a year. I cannot wait until the final book comes out!
