Great start to an exciting urban fantasy series
Damian is a dragon shifter from one of the unearthly realms and his job is to stop anything from getting through the gates onto earth from another realm. He has a supernatural team under him. Andi is a nurse who is hired for a private nursing job. She’s picked up by an enigmatic Damien (though he does not tell her his name) and brought to the mansion of a well known billionaire and tasked with caring for a very wounded man. There is chemistry immediately between Andi and Damien but the night goes sideways for both of them quickly. Thus begins a fast paced (two day timeline) roller coaster ride of an engaging exciting plot which includes witty dialogue and characters with depth. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, sweet moments, steamy scenes dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil actors, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, plot twists, and laughs. While the main story arc of this book is resolved, the story ends on a cliffhanger/teaser for the next book so be prepared. There are three other books in this series. 4.5 stars
Spectacular!
This is my new favorite dragon shifter series! It’s a pinch of Twilight mixed with Venom, wrapped in sexy scales and breathing passion for fire! Andi’s character is well written, and the action is astounding. Will be binging this series!
Cliffhanger
While the storyline & characters are good, the abrupt ending makes it less appealing.
