Family, friendship, love and Dragons!
I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. I have read multiple books by Ms. Lynn, but I think this book has become my absolute favorite.
This story is a retelling of Mulan, but so much more. There is action and adventure, friendship and love....and a Dragon!!!
Hua, wow what a character. I really felt like I knew her after reading this book. This is so much depth created for this character... love for family, friendships, inner struggle and turmoil and honor. She is such a strong young woman who becomes stronger with time. She learns to grow and adapt with each situation she is faced with. I can't wait to see what happens with her next.
Jian...wow, where to being with this man. He has overcome so much, but struggles to find himself. I felt for him, felt his struggles and adversities with so much compassion. Ms. Lynn did an amazing job really developing this character.
Nainai... she reminded me so much of my own grandmother. Fierce, loving, protective, but not one to give away everything. I loved her strength and since of family.
Luca and Bo. I can't say enough about the honor, loyalty, friendship and more that these 2 characters share. I can't wait to see what these 2 men do next.
I can't wait for book 2.
