Publisher Description

Royal twins ripped apart at birth become reluctant champions of good and evil. Kylie, a teenage science geek, has no faith in people. Instead, she relies on what she trusts the most, the facts—what she can see, touch, and hear but never feel. With enough pain to deal with in her own world, she is thrust into another—a kingdom at war whose strange inhabitants fear one thing the most—the return of the dragon. All of this is illogical to Kylie, but even more so, when she discovers she belongs there. Her brother, Prince Jarlon, journeys to kill the dragon who has laid waste to his kingdom. His only hope for destroying the beast is help from his sister, whom he has never met. Will their paths cross before the beast’s malevolence infects Kylie and turns her into his creature or will Jarlon have to destroy her, too?

Not Just for Young Adults!!

—4.5 Stars—

This book was a fun, exciting, interesting, intriguing, adventurous read!

This book has so much to offer its readers and it’s not just for young adults!

I really liked the storyline concept and found it very intriguing!

The writing style is fluid, well developed, and at a steady pace.

I liked the main characters, especially Kylie. She was easy to relate to and someone readers can easily connect with. Kylie is a true science geek and when she gets transported to the realm Hamadriad she is at a loss for words of the what should be impossible. I think a lot of readers like Kylie, will be able to relate to her frightfulness, anxiousness, but yet excitement of the unknown realm and mystery that awaits her.

The author’s writing is strong and vividly detailed. There were a few times I found myself totally caught up in the story!

The author really did a great job with the worldbuilding and really provided so much detail in their writing that it was easy to picture!

There are some predictable scenes. However, there are still a few unexpected twists and turns that you won’t see coming!

I also really like that this book takes real-life issues head on and allows the young reader to easily connect with the characters and the situations they get into.

This book featured some wonderful life lessons and morals and it did not miss the mark!

I like that this book touches on many topics such as fantasy, family, friendship, love, second chances, life lessons, forgiveness, tragedy, guilt, determination, healing, growth, faith, hope, magic, bullying, torment, respect, unity, letting go, moving on, starting over, new beginnings, overcoming obstacles, and so much more!

This book is technically not listed as part of a book series. However, the ending does give suspicion to a possible sequel. Which I think definitely would be well received and appreciated by readers, including this one!

All in all, I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to all young adult and fantasy readers – of all ages!
