Love the dragons
I voluntarily read an Advance Review Copy of this book through Netgalley. This book is full of danger, intrigue and romance. Nic finds a woman Constance who he believes is his mate but he is betrayed by her, in order to save her sister. He realizes this is the reason but he still feels betrayed. There is a lot that happens in the book and they end up together in the end. The book is a good read and I would recommend it.
Unforgivable
Constance betrays Nic in this story. The problem I have is that it’s not an easily forgivable form of betrayal. It doesn’t matter whose life is in the line, you can’t put on person in danger to save another. If my kid was kidnapped and I was told to get information on my annoying neighbor to get him back, I’d go to the annoying neighbor and tell him the details hoping he’d be kind enough to give me permission to tell the kidnapper. Of course, I’d likely call the police.
I hate how easily she was forgiven and how Nic’s family browbeat him for not trusting her. Sure, her plan was to help him, but she owed him that much and she had no way of know whether or not she would be successful.
Her tantrum over him not trusting her made my eyes roll so far back they nearly got stuck. It’s hard to like a romance when you hate the heroine.
The overall story is entertaining. It’s worth a read in the context of the series. Though, it made me start to dislike some of the characters.
Drakons, indeed!
I like the way this book is narrated from the viewpoint of both the heroine and the hero. The love story was wonderful and made even better because the hero was so powerful, but so vulnerable as well. The fantasy was kept more ‘believable’ than most, and although I’d not read any others in this series, I didn’t need to know them to enjoy this one.
I’d recommend this book to anyone interested in dragons, mythology, romance, etc. I enjoyed everything about it! Will surely read others from this author.
