‘Drama King’ is the second book in the Three Kings Series, is a full-length, contemporary romantic comedy, and can be read as a complete standalone.
From her first meeting with Cyrus you could feel the sparks between these two. As the months went by the connection grew. I loved how these two grew and finally got together. Beautifully written! I so loved it!!
Funny with heart
As always, Penny Reid's books do not disappoint. My favorite aspect is that it feels like every word, scenario and thought is really considered in the context of the whole story. In this story, Beth is a security expert who is tasked as part of the team to protect Cyrus, a movie star who, unbeknownst to him, has a history with Beth. After a failed meet cute (she is a stand in for another famous actor and was vetting him as a date when she ends up mixing a glass of wine with anti-histamines, making her a little less than lucid), they end up realizing that they need to work together. As the story unfolds, the reader can see how strong and relatable and especially, likable these characters are, individually and together. I also really liked the supporting cast of characters, including the team of security experts. Generally, a fast read and overall, one that made me smile a lot.
