Drawing the Line on Smart Cities in South Africa: Is It a Perfect Canvas for Town Planning, Architecture and Sustainable Engineering, or the Very Dreams and Desires of Techno Terrorists‪?‬

#Saudi_Arabia is currently constructing a 170 km long, rectangular shape #smart_city called "#THE_LINE" or "#Neom".

This city will consist of glass mirrors outside, the inside of cement and iron bars.

As a #Town_Planning student,
I thought this was a grand project in terms of #architecture, #engineering and #sustainability.

But with meditation,
I wondered if a smart city #like_this, especially #in South Africa,
would it also not 'invite' terrorists?

If the #stress_limits of a material is known,
and if an entire city is constructed of the #same material,
then in theory an entire city would now be at #risk.

If glass can be #shattered by using #noise, i.e., via its #resonant_frequency,
then,
how difficult would it be for terrorists to modify a fleet of drones with speakers,
to fly near the city's wall and
use noise to destroy the glass of a city?

And thereafter destroy even the cement of the city?

If you study the psychology and the 'hunger' of terrorists,
then
I believe the answer to be very straight forward.

But why the #weaponization of sound?

Ask yourself this question...

How many people/terrorists can #afford
#bombs, #missiles and #bullets?

How difficult is it to #replenish such stock?

What are the #financial implications to acquire and maintain all of those items?

Few people will realise that Terrorists ALSO practice #entrepreneurship and #innovation!

Terrorism does not ONLY occur in the West,
But in Africa,
AND also in #South_Africa

My book deals with understanding terrorism from a town planning #perspective.

Because of the world's population becoming #larger, including South Africa,
BUT
Populations of cities and towns are ALSO increasingly becoming more #concentrated,
my natural concerns are with #population #safety.

My #reference_list is fresh and extensive,
it is NOT science fiction.
From the loopholes in #political_funding, #military_strategy #drones etc., it is all there.

NB: My book does NOT enable terrorism!

I initially wanted to interview a drone #expert-for obvious reasons,
and a military nuclear physicist who has a background in understanding sound science,
both for the purpose of an academic article.

BUT!

During the course of my research and with #meditation,
several things soon emerged...

My research could by #NO means explore the #precise technical minutiae that would actually #enable the weaponization of noise.

Nor could or would I conduct actual experiments either.

For I would literally give away the #blueprint to any person studying my work!!!

My work is thus written in such a way where the reader, #town_planners and #urban_designers,
as well as those tasked with #protecting a country,
To equip them to #comprehend and more importantly,
to also encourage further independent #thinking when considering #city_safety from terrorists who may use #applied_physics.
