Suspend reality and find love?
I won this book as part of a Romance Writers giveaway. After years of languishing on my TBR “Shelf”, I am voluntarily reviewing it]
“ I believe,” she said,” in what I can touch, in what I can see, in what I can hold in these two hands. But,’ she admitted with a smile,” I am willing consider other possibilities”.
Jackson Kilchurn is a jewelry designer and a gemologist who stumbles upon a whole new type of adventure when he, while on another adventure, makes a side trip into the impossible.
Amanda dePiaget, only daughter of an English lord,is busy trying to avoid the suitors that are more interested in the dowry than her. And she’s tired of it. Until she finds a barely alive man and nurses him back to health and discovers he knows nothing about her and her family. For that reason alone she is intrigued.
In this 2005 introductory romance, Lynn Kurland writes a page turning historical romance that makes you wonder why we all can’t go anywhere we want to to find our heart’s desire. Suspend reality and enter into the historical time that Kurland’s prose brings to you. Recommended
Dreams of Stardust
This is the story of Jackson Kilchurn the IVth and Amanda de Piaget.
If you have been following the De Piaget series, you will discover yet another marvelous novel set in 1227 and 2005.
If you are opening a Lynn Kurland novel for the first time, no worries, they each stand on their own; no need to have read any before to follow this one.
For those of us who are hooked, this may be my favorite. The characters are very well developed and the contrast between modern and Medieval thoughts is fascinating.
I will not divulge any details about their story, but still, trust me: worth your read!
A favorite time travel romance
Lynn Kurland has a talent for writing lovely romances. This one wins bonus points in my book for featuring a male time traveler. Moreover, it, like many of her other books, is less explicit than is traditional nowadays. it's nice to have some things left to the imagination. I heartily recommend this book and the series of which it is a part to anyone who likes a good love story.
