Contractor Shannon Hammer’s new project, renovating an old church, reveals some old sins when a body is found on the premises in the latest Fixer-Upper Mystery from the New York Times author Kate Carlisle.
While Shannon Hammer is thrilled to attend the premiere of the movie based on her boyfriend Mac’s latest book, she can’t wait to trade her killer heels for work boots and start her next renovation project in Lighthouse Cove: a quaint Victorian church that has seen better days. And will see them again—as a museum—if Shannon, her talented crew, and her sister Chloe have anything to say about it.
But on the first day of demolition, work comes to a screeching halt when they stumble on the body of a beautiful young woman in one of the chapels. Who killed the assistant art director? Suspects crawl out of the woodwork as fast as Shannon can restore it. The church is hiding a century of secrets from the days that smugglers wreaked havoc on the California coast. But it’s a more recent secret that someone killed to protect. Shannon and Mac will use every tool in their toolbox to nail down the truth before any more lives are sacrificed.
The latest Fixer Upper Mystery does not disappoint!
Dressed to Drill is the latest installment in the Fixer-Upper Mystery Series by Kate Carlisle. This is an amazing cozy series so if you haven’t read the earlier books you will definitely want to go back and catch up on them all. The series isn’t slowing down and I think this book is my favorite so far. In Dressed to Drill Shannon and her crew are getting started on an unusual project, they will be turning a Victorian Gothic Church into an art museum. As Shannon and her team do the initial walk though with Madeline the museums artistic director they stumble up on the body of her assistant. Old sins and secrets will be revealed as Shannon looks for answers before it is too late
Dressed To Drill
This series is terrific and this book did get proud! Wish this series was still on Hallmark! The tv series were also good but her books are always better! Love this author and her different series!
A great addition to an enjoyable series
Kate Carlisle’s latest Fixer-Upper mystery, Dressed to Drill, is the 10th in the series and a must-read for fans of Shannon Hammer and her posse. In it we go from a Hollywood premiere - Shannon in makeup, designer gown, and heels back to Lighthouse Cove for a renovation of a church to a museum. Much lies below the surface in this story, both architecturally and and psychologically…
As always, the warmth Kate Carlisle brings to her characters (narcissistic Whitney notwithstanding) makes her tale that much more memorable.
