Publisher Description
A contemporary photographic journey through Dublin that brings history to life. This explores the city's Viking heritage; its role as a Norman and later British seat of power; and finally its emergence as Ireland's vibrant capital during the Celtic Tiger years. Through lushly illustrated purpose-made images, this book looks at Dublin's Georgian architecture, classic bridges, famous pubs, as well as its parks, streets, and institutions. Among the features are chapters on beer and pubs, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and the defining role of the River Liffey.
