The Due South Boxed set contains the first five books of USA TODAY BEST-SELLING author Tracey Alvarez’s romantic series set against the stunning backdrop of Aotearoa, New Zealand. If you like heartwarming, sexy and sweet small-town romances with a touch of comedy, you’ll love sharing the journey with these authentic men and women struggling to find their special someone.
The first 5 Stewart Island Books (over 1200 pages) are included:
In Too Deep (Book #1)
Two hearts. A second chance. Everything on the line…
To save her brother from financial ruin, police diver Piper Harland does the one thing she swore she’d never do—return to the tiny island hometown on Stewart Island where Ryan “West” Westlake crushed her heart. West lost Piper once, but now she’s back for an unexpected six week visit. Maybe he wants her a little bit, but can he fall in love with such a flight risk? Saying goodbye the second time might just destroy them both.
Melting Into You (Book #2)
They’ll either melt or raze their lives to the ground…
Ben Harland is, by his own admission, a bit of a grouch. He doesn’t do soppy chick-flicks and he’s hen-picked enough as it is with his mother and two younger sisters on his case. He sure doesn’t need any more drama in his world. But life has a way of rearing up and biting him in the butt when he least expects it. Cue insta-daddyhood to an eight-year-old girl and an out-of-control attraction to Stewart Island's hot school teacher, Kezia Murphy.
Ready To Burn (Book #3)
Watch the sparks fly as they burn it up in the kitchen…
Shaye Harland desperately wants the role of Due South’s head chef, but the far too sexy Del Westlake muscles in and steals it. A reality TV show plans to feature Del at his estranged father’s restaurant—jump-starting his ruined reputation and career in the States—but will the sparks flying in the kitchen burn his chances of ever becoming Shaye’s Mr. Perfect?
Christmas With You (Book #4)
The Kiwi barbecue isn't the only thing sizzling this summer...
Carly Gatlin’s doesn’t want to spend another Christmas alone since her father died the year before. She’s come to Stewart Island in New Zealand to spend the holiday with her stepfamily, though she feels more of a Christmas Grinch than filled with good cheer. Kip Sullivan’s big, boisterous family have also arrived en-masse—someone just shoot him before his match-making relatives get out of control. Kip agrees to make Carly’s first Kiwi Christmas special, but will he gain more than mistletoe kisses from the woman who threatens to claim his heart?

The best book I’ve read in a while, and genuinely couldn’t put it down.
Really enjoyed these easy going characters. The island setting was fun and so glad everyone found their way without too much angst. Only downfall, is that I now want to go to New Zealand.
Great series at an incredible price!
I loved this series. I didn't read them in order and had no trouble following the storyline. These books are fun to read as the characters are engaging and real. No picture perfect heroes and heroines just likable people living in a small town in a remote part of Southern New Zealand.
In Too Deep- Book 1
This is the love story of Ryan West (West) and Piper set in beautiful New Zealand. It is the first in the Second Chances series. Piper is a police recovery diver who has returned home to help her brother, Ben and the family's shark adventure business. He is in financial trouble and can't work at the business because of an injury. Her return home means she also needs to face some demons of her past. One of the demons is Ryan West (West) who owns a pub and is helping with the business as well. They have an unfortunate history and as the story unfolds details become clearer and in the end *spoiler alert* ..they fall in love. I read #2 first so I was looking forward to seeing how these two met.
There is hostility, some biting humor but ultimately you see the story of strength, love and family bonds. There is also some sex so if that's not your cuppa, you best steer clear.
them apart without reading their names just by the words they used and what they had to say. Piper? Sassy. Kezia? Sweet with Italian thrown in. Well done!
The entire series is simply very well done...
Piper has some emotional trauma from her Dad's drowning that she learns to deal with and she makes peace with her family and herself. Their family secrets that slowly emerge, all of which makes for a fully developed story. As a couple they seem a bit dense about the future and sleep together for weeks without ever acknowledging the fact that she needs to leave to go back to work. Maybe it is the American in me but I wish these people would just talk to each other- but I guess then there wouldn't be much of a story.
I am a fan of New Zealand, although I've never been, so I love reading about the topography and the sights. I wish the book had more of them so I can travel without leaving home. The details about Piper's diving work and shark adventures as well as the side story of West's free diving were great and very well written.
Ready to Burn- Book 3
This is absolutely my favorite in the series.I really, really liked this book! Ms Alvarez combined witty dialogue with well developed characters in real life situations and I was hooked from the first chapter.
I won't go through the plot synopsis but I liked Del and Shaye are both chefs and I liked the way she added little snippets of a chef's life into the story. She did her research on the unglamorous life of food prep. Their inner dialogues were often food references such as 'holy-freaking-guacamole' and I loved it! Not a great example but trust me, they are clever. She even mixes food references with sex-and if sex in books isn't your thing then you've been warned.
“So sweet, I found out too late your sweetness is more like salt.” Curling his fingers over the waistband of her panties, he tugged them down....
“Salt,” she whispered after a moment. “No chef would give it up for sugar.” She did her research.
I think their relationship, with its ups and downs, is a great read. The characters from past and future books have active roles in this book and I am glad. They, too, are complex, yet still very funny, supportive and likable. In some books of this genre the men are too perfect. You will not find that in this series. They are real people who are a bit flawed, but still likeable and sexy! I think this is a strength of this writer and is what's made me appreciate her books. Del says marriage is two flawed halves that make a whole and he says it so eloquently that I want to print that out and send it to my daughters.
This book includes family, work in food prep, drama, sex and even the sliminess of a reality show! Does Bill get his kidney transplant? How do they change Far South to make it more profitable? Thank you, Tracey Alvarez, for a great trip to Oban New Zealand. I am looking forward to reading the next book to see what happened to these great characters.
My Forever Valentine- Book 5
Ms. Alvarez does not leave you wondering what is going on with our friends from the other books. My Forever Valentine is a nice check-in of all the couples and how they celebrated Valentine's Day. I loved hearing how all the characters are doing and the one thing I appreciated about these short stories is that they moved the series forward. It wasn't just a recap and then done. It sets the stage for the future while still keeping the charm and romance of the past books. In case you hadn't read them previously, at the end of each segment she has link to go back and read the full books - which you wont need to if you by this boxed set! Also, I feel she did a really good job of keeping the characters 'voices' in each section. I think I could have told them apart without reading their names just by the words they used and what they had to say. Piper? Sassy. Kezia? Sweet with Italian thrown in. Well done!
The entire series is simply very well done...
