After being forced back to Dunkirk by the Germans in May/June 1940 the British Expeditionary Force in France had to be evacuated from Dunkirk by all types of ships and vessels, this the story told by a both authors who served at the time is a fascinating account of what went on.

"Dunkirk" was first published in 1950 under the title "Keep The Memory Green".
It was used as inspiration for the 1958 film, Dunkirk, starring Richard Attenborough.
