Truly wonderful, addictive!
Packed with history about the days of vaudeville and marathon dances. This is definitely one of 3 books I’d want with me if shipwrecked. All true and what a life she had! So well written, really draws you in. I love that it also blasts through the carefully crafted misinformation about her sister Gypsy Rose Lee (but in a loving way, they were very close.) I can’t say enough positive things about this story. I wish there was an audiobook version!
It holds up!
Amusing and suspenseful, this is Dainty June’s story after she parted ways with Madame Rose and Louise. Anyone who has memories of a relative who survived the Depression will appreciate this first-hand account of the time.
