"Fun and flirty, EARNING IT is a winner!" -- Avery Flynn, USA Today best selling author of The Negotiator
One blind date. One case of mistaken identity. One Navy SEAL faced with his high school crush. What could go wrong?
And her hookup? A gorgeous lawyer.
It should've been simple. A hot, sweaty afternoon quickie and never the two should boink, er, meet again.
But it wasn't simple when she learns the next day that her hookup is not only her patient but also her old high school nemesis Luke Haas, or Haashole as she called him. All grown-up and a Navy SEAL and…and…brawny and maddening and omg-so-hot.
EARNING IT is a steamy second chance, enemies-to-lovers standalone romantic comedy from RITA Winning and USA Today bestselling author Angela Quarles with a happy-ever-after and no cheating or cliffhangers. Warning: there's a scene where guys get all hot and sweaty playing the ancient Irish sport of hurling, just sayin'
Quarles's taut little contemporary sets up a steamy affair with a forgivably contrived case of mistaken identity. After a 10-year absence, newly minted sports doctor Pepper Rodgers returns to her hometown of Sarasota, Fla. Even before she hangs out her shingle, an old friend sets her up on a blind date. What harm can come from coffee with a good-looking lawyer named Rick? And the man sitting alone at a table in the Mocha Cabana looks more like a young god. Pepper's just been through an unceremonious breakup and a long dry spell, and just the sight of this guy is arousing. The looker in question is in fact Pepper's high school nemesis, Luke Haas, a retired SEAL, and he sees no harm in pretending to be Rick the lawyer after Pepper mistakes him for the person she's supposed to meet. But the coffee leads to a delicious quickie and ultimately to the inevitable relationship-killing confession. The tension plays out as Luke's hurling team prepares for international competition. Fans of lightweight fluff will consume this story in a single sitting. (BookLife)

Earning It by Angela Quarles
Pepper Rodgers, a sports medicine physician, mistakes her high school nemesis, Luke Haas, as the lawyer her friend Tricia set her up with.
The day after the hookup, Pepper discovers the truth. She is sent to get a teams medical records to complete their sponsorship agreement. To say the least, Pepper's angry at
Ken for being played.
Now Luke has to regain her trust for the teams sake.
Pretty good mistakenly identity story. Pepper & Luke were school mates and he was the guy that likes the girl but doesn't know how to tell her so he was not a favorite friend of hers then. They are both and are supposed to be wiser but he is still playing games. He can't resist the pull that he still has for her and thankfully has at least learned how to communicate a little better with age, lol. They have some webs to get through as they work to figure out what to do next. He's determined this time around though so Pepper won't slip out of life so easily this time around. Author also introduces a "new-to-me" sport which adds interest to the romance plot.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
