The prose section consists of selections from Plato, Santayana, Russell, Aesop and a few excellent late authors whom you’ve likely never heard of. This section finishes with Krishnamurti’s advice on childhood education, Lessing’s analysis of our religious education, and Schiller’s take on humanity’s education in beauty. We transition from prose to poetry with selections from Turgenev. The poetry section begins with selections from the mystical Persian poets, Rumi, Khayyam and Haifiz, along with informative introductions.
