Eby's Exile

Robbed of her Brazilian inheritance, Eby embarks on a perilous adventure to a series of islands in the Caribbean, where she finds herself caught up in struggles between slave owners, abolitionists, colonial officials, and freedom fighters. Eventually, she falls in with a group of murderous Mayan revolutionaries until a chance meeting with an older woman revives her fortunes.  Though reassured by her comfortable situation, she meets a man who offers to change her life forever.  Will she throw away what little luck that has come her way?  Or after her turbulent journey, will she choose stability and security over following her heart?
