Publisher Description

INTRODUCTION In recent years there has been a renewed interest in the effects of vibration on athletic performance, due to the availability and marketing of vibrating platforms designed for this purpose. Physiotherapeutic and clinical use of whole body vibration (WBV) has indicated that the use of vibration in physical training may have numerous benefits to individuals ranging from the elite athlete to the physically impaired (10,11,13,22). Proposed benefits include: increased strength and power, increased flexibility, increased bone mineral density, improved cardiovascular function, and decreased pain.
