Introduction L'insuffisance renale chronique a affecte la sante de 286,567 canadiens entre 1998 et 2007. De ce nombre, un total de 137,742 personnes sont hemodialysees (Institut canadien d'information sur la sante, 2007). La fatigue repre-sente le symptome le plus frequemment vecu par les per-sonnes hemodialysees (Cho & Tsay, 2004; Su, Wu, Lee, Wang, Liu, 2009; Wilson, Malahy, Read, Scialabba, & Woodrow, 2006). Elle apparait au debut de l'insuffisance renale et la fatigue est attribuable particulierement au proces-sus de la maladie chez les personnes hemodialysees (McCann & Boore, 2000). Cho et Tsay (2004) affirment que le taux eleve de fatigue et l'impact de ce symptome sur la vie des per-sonnes hemodialysees ont recu une attention minimale jus-qu'a ce jour, puisque tres peu d'interventions ont ete deve-loppees pour reduire la fatigue chez cette population. Les personnes hemodialysees peuvent apprendre comment prendre en charge la fatigue chronique et, pour y parvenir, elles doivent avoir recours a l'infirmiere (Lee, Lin, Chaboyer, Chiang & Hung, 2007). Clark et Lacasse (1998) soutiennent que les personnes atteintes de fatigue s'attendent a ce que les professionnels de la sante proposent des interventions effi-caces pour la diminuer. Plusieurs auteurs sont d'avis qu'il est essentiel de donner de l'information aux personnes aux prises avec des symptomes de fatigue (Chapman & Rush 2003; Kaba et al., 2007). Ces memes auteurs signalent que la satisfaction a l'egard de l'information donnee aux personnes demeure grandement inexploree.
