Eggtooth

The Hayak live in a forest with a canopy so dense that little light filters through. The vegetation grows so thickly and quickly that it must constantly be cleared away to make room for their huts and the paths they walk upon. A central part of their life is the rasha when they are driven to make their way out of the forest into the bright sunlight of the beaches. During this time they are joined with the Sun, and sometimes with others whose rash overlaps with their own.


A child among the Hayak is valued as a child of the Sun, shining with the Sun's light. Each child is loved and supported by the entire community. It is a life that is rich and nurturing. Nothing is forced. All is allowed to happen in its own time.


And then the messengers come. They don't intend to do harm. Yet so much is changed.
