Publisher Description

John Henry Ingram resolved to combine Elizabeth Barrett Browning's prominent works in an effort to bring more awareness to the exceptional woman and her talents. As described in the introduction by Ingram, at the time of publication of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, the public was only offered short bursts of her genius. Other times, her writings would be too costly to purchase, so the buyer would only be limited to peering at the book in increments.   Unfortunately, due to judicial practices that limited exposure in the form of proper editorship, Ingram was unable to compile a great list of Browning's creations.   Ultimately, despite the restrictions, John Henry Ingram endeavored to lift the mysterious veil off of Elizabeth Barrett Browning. This work is, essentially, her very first biography.
