Publisher Description

Phineas Poole is notorious for making bad decisions. Blindly accepting the position as pastor of a small, unknown church in rural New Hampshire isn’t the worst choice he could make. Yet he and Sister Mary Ignatius, an overbearing, foulmouthed nun, choose to risk everything when they secretly open their rectory to shelter abused children. Their trouble begins when they take in Zachary Black, an antisocial misfit with no conscience and a burning hatred for those around him. Assuming the boy’s malevolence to be a cry for help, the priest focuses all his attention and efforts on Black, who has neither the desire to be helped, nor the intention to be reformed. Ultimately, this situation puts the lives of those whom Phineas loves in peril and forces him to reveal the sins of a dark past.

Captivating!!!

Could not put this book down!!! I was hooked from the first chapter, the author draws you in by building each character carefully then weaves them in and out of the storylike a seamstriss weaving a fine garment. The midlle to the end of the book is an intense ride and you can not put the book down. Like all good books, It leaves you wanting more. I Highly reccomend it!

Purely esthetically speaking...

I'm not so bold as to write a review for my own novel. Suffice it to say, I am giving the presentation/delivery/overall quality of my novel on iBooks a 5-star rating because I am so very pleased with how my publisher formatted my work into ebook format. I hope you, the reader will feel the same way. Enjoy.

Embracing Darkness

I now have another book to add to my top ten favs of all time. I borrowed this from a friend of mine and despite the length I read it in less than a week. I am already recommending it to all my friends family and neighbors who love to read. You will laugh and cry and fall in love with many of the characters in the story. A lot goes on in the book but it's brilliantly written I have to say and you never feel lost. You feel connected to the characters and Roe does an awesome job with describing them and relating their pasts that it's almost like you've known them your whole life and you come to love them. The connections that come to the surface the more you keep reading makes it an interesting and intruiging work of fiction! Each chapter builds more and more into the plot, and subplots are aplenty! At the end it all comes together, but you'll keep guessing the entire way through and not be able to guess correctly what the author is thinking and planning in his mind!
