"In Empty, David takes us through his most recent years of recovery; tying in stream of consciousness poetry, short stories, and what can only be described as poetic assaults on contemporary culture from different points in his sober history and different perspectives in his own mind. He attempts to bring you and perhaps himself, full circle, through the strange landscape of his recovering, yet damaged mind. Having worked in the same field as David for thirty years in Government service, I can say without reservation, 'His dedication to the truth, despite the cost to his career, the difficulty of sorting through his bias, and the full intent of placing it in front of us.
