A must for serious athletes
I did not read this straight through. I picked the area that fit my goals.
Two examples of advice that assisted in improving my half marathon PR from 2:08 to 1:58. I used to always fade in the last 3 miles, but now I have consistent feeling of energy to the end.
1. The importance of reducing sugar intake (sports beans) and moving to maltrodrextrin + less sugar (gu is one example).
2. The importance of spreading out caloric intake over a distance race to avoid insulin spikes. Instead of eating a 100 cal packet every 45 mins, eat a 50 cal half packet every 25 minutes.
Highly recommended for any athlete or coach serious about gaining an edge.
