Publisher Description
The award-winning author of The Tourist Attraction turns up the charm with this sweet, laugh-out-loud story about:
A grouchy mountaineer
A determined Hollywood starlet
A love-sick marmot
A gorgeous Alaskan wilderness
And a journey neither will ever forget.
Former Hollywood darling River Lane's acting career is tanking fast. Determined to start fresh behind the camera, she agrees to film a documentary about the picturesque small town of Moose Springs, Alaska. The assignment should have been easy, but the quirky locals want nothing to do with River. Well, too bad: River's going to make this film and prove herself, no matter what it takes.
Or what (literal) mountain she has to climb.
Easton Lockett may be a gentle giant, but he knows a thing or two about survival. If he can keep everyone in line, he should be able to get River and her crew up and down Mount Veil in one piece. Turns out that's a big if. The wildlife's wilder than usual, the camera crew's determined to wander off a cliff, and the gorgeous actress is fearless. Falling for River only makes Easton's job tougher, but there's only so long he can hold out against her brilliant smile. When bad weather strikes, putting everyone at risk, it'll take all of Easton's skill to get them back home safely...and convince River she should stay in his arms for good.
"Fresh, fun and romantic."—SARAH MORGAN, USA Today bestselling author for The Tourist Attraction
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Morganthaler returns to the charming hamlet of Moose Springs, Alas., for a delightful third contemporary romance (after Mistletoe and Mr. Right). Hollywood actor turned aspiring director River Lane arrives in Moose Springs aiming to film a documentary about the quirky town for the Alaskan Tourism Board. But the people of Moose Springs don't take kindly to tourists. When getting the necessary permits proves impossible, a frustrated River realizes that plan A isn't going to work. Enter Easton Lockett a gentle giant mountaineer who River persuades to help her with plan B: a film about climbing Mt. Veil. On their trek, River proves to Easton that she's no pampered Hollywood star she grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming and mountain-climbing is her favorite way to relax and Easton becomes a part of River's film crew. Romance soon follows but an accident on the climb could spell disaster. Morganthaler's strong hero and unconventional heroine immediately appeal, and the climbing plot is refreshing and authentic. Both existing Morganthaler fans and new ones will devour this sweet and occasionally spicy romance and laugh out loud at an unexpectedly hilarious guest: a lovesick marmot. This is a treat. .

sad to say goodbye for now
finally caught up on this series and still in love with it. it's made me miss my snowy home in michigan and miss being near family, and make me want to visit new places more ! so excited for the next book ;)
Not happy they ended up together
Loved Easton, hated River. Not happy they ended up together. I thought he should have slid her right back off the mountain after her stupid stunts and never seen her again. First time I’ve struggled to get through a romance in a long time, because I really didn’t like the female character.
