Environmental Psychology

Today the fields of environmental psychology, conservation psychology and ecopsychology are helping society to form an affirmative response to emerging environmental and natural resource constraints. This is a grand challenge since the response must plan for, motivate and maintain environmental stewardship behaviour through a period of significant energy and resource descent. The initial focus is to pre-familiarize ourselves with living well within the limits of natural ecosystems. Environmental psychology has conquered the whole architectural genre which is concerned with retail stores and any other commercial venues that have the power to manipulate the mood and behaviour of customers. Environmental psychology has not received nearly enough supporters to be considered an interdisciplinary field within psychology. This book is a response to the growing interest in environmental psychology as a way to promote sustainable environments, this text incorporates the work of over fifty well-known scholars to examine this increasingly important area.
