Most of the poems in this volume were originally published in India, and have been out of print for several years. In bringing out a new edition of them the author has preferred to get the book printed in England. The course followed may not be approvable on other grounds : what was held passable in India will, perhaps, not be tolerated in Britain; but the author being solely responsible for the error, will have no one to Blame for the consequences but himself.
