Waste of Money
I bought this thinking it had up-to-date maps andinformation about the newest high speed train lines. There are some barebones maps which are so small that even on a 40” monitor, the fonts are unreadable and un-expandable. Essentially this a poor man’s Rick Steves with advice about pickpockets, a crap load of train departure times which is probably out of date before it was printed, etc. You can find way more tourist info of this type for free on Tripadvisor and elsewhere - and for the price of this book, you can buy a real travel guide with 100 times as much tourist info. Its a complete waste of money and zero value. Part of the problem is Apple’s previews only allow one to see the introduction and none of the meat. I should have bought this on Amazon and then returned it when I saw what it was. Apparently this is some kind of legacy project that they keep changing the title to imply its relevant to the current year - when anyone with internet could get more info in 10 minutes on any of these subjects. Meanwhile I will go directly to the SCNF, ICE, and other high speed trains to find their updated routes.
