Evolving to Enterprise BI

Organizations typically have a mix of departmental “islands” of Business Intelligence (BI) applications. As new business needs arise, departments and workgroups continue to develop new islands of BI as necessary to meet them. While nimble and convenient, these department-specific BI systems also lead to multiple versions of the truth and high costs of ownership. The solution is to migrate from departmental islands of BI to an enterprise architecture without interrupting business users or requiring the redesign of reports and other analyses.
