Publisher Description
The life of Colonel Fawcett is now the subject of the major motion picture The Lost City of Z.
The disappearance of Colonel Fawcett in the Matto Grosso remains one of the great unsolved mysteries. In 1925, Fawcett was convinced that he had discovered the location of a lost city; he had set out with two companions, one of whom was his eldest son, to destination 'Z', never to be heard of again. His younger son, Brian Fawcett, has compiled this book from letters and records left by his father, whose last written words to his wife were: 'You need have no fear of any failure . . .' This is the thrilling and mysterious account of Fawcett's ten years of travels in deadly jungles and forests in search of a secret city.

Riveting Tales of Historic Adventures
I don’t understand the low ratings so I felt I needed to rate this book because I thought it was extremely fascinating and way more riveting than the Lost City of Z book. I really liked hearing the stories directly from Percy Fawcett’s own words, which gives an interesting perspective of his adventures through his own eyes. I felt like I really got to know him and like him through his own writing. His son did a great job compiling all this together and for $2 I was really happy with this purchase because all the words that weren’t in English you could easily click them to get to the glossary for the definition and then click back to resume reading which made it super easy. Great book!
