Extending the Stay to San Jose

In their storied basketball history, the Murray State Racers had only won one NCAA Tournament game leading into the 2009-10 season. That year, the Racers won a record-setting 31 games en route to another trip to the NCAA Tournament. In their opening round game against Vanderbilt, Murray State’s Danero Thomas hit the iconic buzzer-beating shot that is still talked about today by Racer fans everywhere. This is the story of that shot, and how it almost never happened, brought to you by the voices of the people in and around the Murray State program that year.
