Publisher Description

External Affairs details the unique style of policing, madcap antics, and sexual exploits of Nassau County police officer and ring leader; Tony DeFrancisco, his three carousing police cohorts. Interfering with their "carefree and decadent life style", is the vengeful IAU Sgt. Margaret Ryan, A.K.A. "Von Ryan", in constant close pursuit and bent on "burning" these officers for their outrageous behavior. In order for Tony and his crew to save themselves and their likable precinct commanding officer, "Colonel Blake", also on the proverbial "chopping block" from a disgruntled Chief of Department, the boys must expeditiously solve two separate and unique high profile crime sprees being perpetrated simultaneously against Long Island women, by a "bad boy" criminal and a rogue cop.
The obstacles the officers confront on their "mission" are handled "tactfully and humorously, while still allowing the boys time to squeeze in their sexual exploits and outrageous antics.
External Affairs is a fresh concept that's a cross between MASH and NYPD Blue, and does for the police officer what MASH did for the doctor: it displays a different side of the police through a combination of high drama and action, intermingled with sex, booze, broads, and practical jokes.

Cop Boss ,

Highly Recommended! A must read contemporary crime novel for any cop or crime buff!

The book unfolds on the streets of Long Island. Home to many a media super star like Howard Stern, Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Crystal, Eddie Murphy, Billy Joel, and the Baldwin brothers. Do I dare even mention Lindsay Lohan or Joey Buttafuoco/Amy Fisher? The crime dramedy details a group of four of Nassau Counties Finest, as they juggle their daily routine calls and daring rescues, while trying to solve a series of extremely unusual and perverse crime sprees. In between their exemplary police work, the four carousing cops find the time, and the energy, to squeeze in a little "recreation" with the wanting and willing Long Island MILFS, bored with their husbands and mundane daily routines.
The highly motivated antagonist out to stop these madmen with badges is the ever persistent Sergeant Margaret "Von" Ryan, who is in constant and close pursuit. Her goal is to "burn" these officers and have them tossed off the job.
The story is told through the jaded eyes and twisted mind of the protagonist and main character, Tony DeFrancisco, as he field trains a new recruit fresh out of the academy, on things like police procedure, street policy, discretion, profiling, and the ways of the world.
External Affairs is a fast and easy read jam packed with interesting and zany characters as well as a plethora of outrageously funny cop anecdotes from Tony's days as both a NYC cop and Long Island Cop.
The book is also written for the "every man or woman". It flows easily without making you have to struggle to read it because some author finds it necessary to load up the book with overy fancy prose designed to impress you with his writing skills, more than entertain you. On the contrary, External Affairs, is written in the "old school" simplistic styles of Mickey Spillane or Joseph Wambaugh, descriptive and entertaining without the fluff.
Give External Affairs a shot, pardon the pun, you won't be disappointed and you may be pleasantly surprised. I know I was, and I read it twice.
One warning. The book is not for prudes people who don't enjoy a highly sexual romp.
