Extracurricular - Book 1 of 3
BOOK 1 OF JOSIE BROWN’S 3-NOVEL EPISODIC SERIES
It's your child's senior year. A private high school's reputation is at stake. A math teacher refuses to grade his final exams on a curve. Students have only one more shot at the SAT before college applications are due.
And a few desperate parents have much more money than brains.
In EXTRACURRICULAR, a dark family secret leads to a cheating scandal at a private school, setting off a crisis of conscience for the parents, teachers, administrator and the students involved —
And a catharsis for one couple about their own marriage.
A good read but not great.
Sadly disappointed, I expected Josie Brown to live up to her writing standards she excelled at in writing the Housewife Assassins Books. The writing was good but the plot line suffered all through the book.
College Admissions Scandals
Author, Josie Brown, has another 5 star, “plucked from the nation’s headlines”, blockbuster. Everything she writes and all that she conjures up makes me crave more. Fortunately, Extracurricular is the first of three novels so all of Josie Brown’s readers will have the opportunity to extend the pleasure of reading her work. Anything Ms Brown writes is current, well researched and I am always in my happy place when I have one of her books to read.
Extracurricular by Josie Brown
I had the privilege of reading an advance reader copy of Book 1 in the 3-book episodic EXTRACURRICULAR story by Josie Brown and WOW. Just, wow.
Great characters, great storylines. With an opening glimpse into Book 2, readers of Book 1 are introduced to the main characters while knowing the very uncertain future they all must face. We learn their complicated background and watch as one twist after the other alters their lives.
Knowing there are two more books before this story is completely told and realizing that all of this is running parallel to a series of college admissions scandals playing out in real life, makes this one of the hottest episodic novels on the market right now.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't WAIT for Books 2 and 3!
