Contradictory
Hindley is an ok character. Honestly I think there are instances that made me like her less like her justification for stripping. And also the blame on Geneva for her incident, like I get she was hurt however she also has to take responsibility for here actions as there are ways she could have coped better. Geneva came and is taking responsibility for her part in it. I’m a way the author contradicts herself as she meaning Hindley knows she treated her mom and Paul badly but when Geneva explains herself she should although still be angry but at the same time also accept and remember that it is true.
Not only is the book at times contradicting but also the characters don’t grow or develop very well. I mean there are instances that they say they have gotten better however they go back to doubting themselves and it’s just annoying reading their insecurities every other chapter after apparent improvements. Anyway I don’t mean to say the book is bad just not for me
