Publisher Description

THIS IS A STUDENT WRITTEN PRODUCED ASSEMBLED, EDITED AND LAYED OUT BOOK- IT REPRESENTS OUR UNDERSTANDING WHICH WE WORKED HARD TO DEVELOP AND ARE PROUD OF.

The human body is an amazing complex organization of systems which keep it functioning within specific limits or conditions. This phenomenon is known as homeostasis. Extreme sporting events provide incredible challenges for the body and make it challenging to maintain homeostasis. This book series explores some of the most extreme sporting events on Earth. In this book, each event is analyzed in terms of challenges to homeostasis and the feedback loops which keep the body functioning.

A well crafted examination of a complex biological concept

Extreme Homeostasis is a collection of extremely well written articles by grade nine students who have tackled a difficult concept for the reader who is either not familiar with the concept or who struggles to understand it. By exploring homeostasis in such an engaging manner, this book is an invaluable resource for students and adults. Mr. Hennigar and his students are to be commended for producing such an exceptional resource.

An Elegant Examination of a Complex Concept

Mr. Hennigar and his students should be extremly proud of this publication. By examining the process of homeostasis in humans through the lens of various athletic challenges, the seemingly abstract functions of the molecules in our cells are explained within a real world context and are therefore both highly comprehensible and extremely fascinating!
