Diversity, along with integrity, caring, and excellence, is a core value of the NLN. The NLN defines diversity as "affirming the uniqueness of and differences among persons, ideas, values and ethnicities" (www.nln.org/aboutnln/corevalueshtm). The NLN Task Group on Expanding Diversity in the Nurse Educator Workforce is currently involved in helping the NLN develop a plan of action to champion the development of a diverse nurse educator workforce reflective of the population in the United States. To date, the task group has completed the following specific objectives: 1. Conducted a comprehensive review of the literature on diversity in the nurse educator workforce and on diversity among educators in other health professions.
