Publisher Description
In the third book of the Fever series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning, a woman explores the limits of her mysterious powers as she enters a world of ancient sorcery—and confronts an enemy more insidious than she could ever have imagined.
He calls me his Queen of the Night. I’d die for him. I’d kill for him, too.
When MacKayla Lane receives a torn page from her dead sister’s journal, she is stunned by Alina’s desperate words. And now Mac knows that her sister’s killer is close. But evil is closer. And suddenly the sidhe-seer is on the hunt: For answers. For revenge. And for an ancient book of dark magic so evil, it corrupts anyone who touches it.
Mac’s quest for the Sinsar Dubh takes her into the mean, shape-shifting streets of Dublin, with a suspicious cop on her tail. Forced into a dangerous triangle of alliance with V’lane, an insatiable Fae prince with lethally erotic tastes, and Jericho Barrons, a man of primal desires and untold secrets, Mac is soon locked in a battle for her body, mind, and soul.
As All Hallows’ Eve approaches, the city descends into chaos as a shocking truth about the Dark Book is uncovered, and not even Mac can prevent a deadly race of immortals from shattering the walls between worlds—with devastating consequences.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Urban Celtic fantasy slides down a dark, depressing slope in bestseller Moning's third Fever thriller (after Bloodfever), centered on a hunt for the Sinsar Dubh, a black magic book more than a million years old. As All Hallow's Eve in Dublin approaches, the walls between the human world and Faery verge on collapse. Can former Georgia peach MacKayla "Mac" Lane prevent a total invasion of the Unseelie Court? Originally intent on avenging her sister Alina's murder committed by Unseelie Lord Master, Mac's now a power-player in the war between the Seelie (good Fae) and Unseelie (bad Fae), after learning she's a Celtic sidhe-seeker who can sniff out OOPS (Objects of Power). Meanwhile, the attractive V'Lane, a death-by-sex Fae, wants Mac's help in securing the Sinsar Dubh for his Seelie queen, Aoibheal. At the end, erotic shocks await Mac in Dublin's vast Dark Zone, setting up feverish if wary expectations for the next installment.

Holy cow!! It just got really real for Mac in this one. I don't think I saw a single thing coming. Mac is still trying to figure out who is good and who is only in the game for their own selfish interests, but the waters are just getting muddier. V'Lane is as weird as ever, and Barons continues to be an enigma. We learn a lot more about each of them, but it only seems to make the more confusing! I can't wait to finally figure them out.
Throw in a few crazy sidhe-seers to just make things fun - oh, and don't forget the druids - and we have ourselves quite a tale. It may seem like there is far too much going on here, but Moning has introduced the players in a way that we've really come to know them all quite well - or at least as well as we're going to right now.
The war is on hand. Unseelie are still flooding the city, and the Dark Zones are expanding. Mac feels like it's her against the world. A world that we learn a lot more about - finally!! It was so good to learn a little more about the Fae history and why the book is so important. It really hits home why everyone is after it.
An incredible addition to the series - the ending will just totally blow your mind. I'm glad the next book is already out. If I had to wait too long to read it, I'd probably go insane.
Karen Marie Moning!
“Then he pulled back and stared at me and when he spoke his voice was low with fury. “Never do that again, Ms. Lane. Do not insult me with your silly rituals, and idiotic platitudes. Never try to humanize me. Don’t think we’re the same, you and I. We’re not.”--Barrons to Mac
Such an awesome book on so many different levels! It was riveting from beginning to end. I felt as if I was Mac fighting my war thru the different trials and tribulations and that's just with Barrons. I felt the electricity of Barrons thru Macs eyes and I also felt her pain of betrayal or rather the not knowing if it's betrayal. And then hell broke loose and I was unsure of what was going to happen. Will Barrons save her, V'lane,
Karen Marie Moning is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. A must read!
