Conlan Malachi takes over the Bear clan as its Prime and he has his work cut out for him. This was a clan on the brink of disaster, its former Prime selling his females to other clans for allegiance, not caring if the mates were fated for each other or not. The day they tried to steal his brothers mate, his sister-in-law, was the day the way of life as they knew it was over. Its not easy to be Prime of a bear clan when your brother animal is a cat. And on top of that this undeniable attraction the most hard-headed, spitfire of a redheaded woman he had ever met, and his cat wants her.
Charleston Grace Barnes was free. After being under the thumb of her step-father her whole life she is finally free to be who and what she wants, and she wants Conlan. Hes so busy running the clan he doesn't know she even exist, so she does everything in her power to make him see her, and has a whole lot of fun at the same time.
Conlan doesn't know what hes going to do with Charleston, she looks for ways to get under his skin, and what he wants is her under him period. He knows he needs a mate to settle his clan so he thinks, ' why not Charleston?'. She was born in this clan and what better way to unite a clan than to mate into it? Now if he can just get her to agree.
Charleston is furious, mate for the clan? Could he be any dumber? She wants to be wanted for her, not the good of the clan, so she digs in and is adamant shes not mating Conlan until he gets his head out of his ass. Now if only she could stop loosing her head every time he gets her in his arms and bed.
Conlan's going to mate her whether she likes it or not, though he knows she likes it or she wouldn't melt every time he gets her in his arms.
Just as it looks like these two work it out circumstances beyond their control tear them apart. Unless Conlan can figure out who's working against him and Charleston then she may be taken from him forever.
