In addition to providing readers with plenty of Amish cultural context, Castillo adds surprising twists to the gripping plot and touches upon police brutality and Amish discrimination. Pleasant Surprise
It took me way too long to crack open this book. I have a bad habit of judging a book it’s cover (I know, I know) But I couldn’t see how a book about the Amish could be even remotely interesting. However, I’m happy that I gave it a chance. Great read. Author definitely fleshed out the characters for us and made everything believable. I’d recommend.

Not an earth shattering plot, but still enjoyable. A light who dunit without an overly complex list of suspects.
